The Artists

Megha is an accomplished and dedicated artist of Bharatanatyam in a revered Indian classical dance form. She has over 20+ years of experience in performance and teaching Bharatanatyam and has won many honors and awards during her career.

She was an early achiever and received several national and state level recognitions. She has performed at widely watched public venues nationally and Internationally in India and the USA and has been a performing artist on Indian National TV Doordarshan.

As sole proprietor and Director, she currently runs a commercially successful ‘Dhirana academy of Classical Dance’ based in Bentonville Arkansas, which trains 100+ students in the USA every year. She has been a supporter of various charities and fundraising events in the NorthWest Arkansas region through her performances.

Although trained in the Thanjavur and Kalakshetra style of Bharatnatyam, she has over the years developed her own form that is graceful, firm, and works along with lines and angles of the body in movement. She believes strongly in the tradition of this art form and all her work & teachings reflect this. Despite her strong Nritta that holds the audience in sway, she prefers to connect with Abhinaya.

Her performances are acclaimed for the agile movements and pristine purity of expression. She creates spellbinding magic on the stage, holding the viewer enthralled by her intrinsic charisma and irreplaceable cheerfulness. Megha has also been learning Classical Ballet for the past four years
